Cue: “Maybe Tomorrow” – Stereophonics
“Maybe Tomorrow, I’ll find my way… back home.”
This line is quite fitting for the day. In fact, in essence, epitomises it. There is a saying: “Everything happens for a reason.” Maybe it does. Right now, it sure doesn’t feel like it. Right now it feels like it might have been better to stay in bed and try again tomorrow.
Amanda was leaving. “Was” leaving. Didn’t leave… yet… due to prolonged conversations and the cold shoulder of South African Airways. Little cues should have told us things were not going as planned… broken pottery gifts, a bottle of garlic Nali split down the seam, cutting the timing close on too many occasions… we were tempting fate. And Fate has decided to have her way with us. No amount of apologies and regretful wishing will sway the facts.
As Parker pointed out, I am a bad airport chaperone.
Maybe Tomorrow… (or Thursday)
